What is Tent and Dog?

I do a lot of traveling to the woods, open lands, and very picturesque places across Minnesota, North Dakota, and around the Country. I am in search of the best camping spots. Criteria, a great place to pitch my tent with an exceptional view. Close to water so I can paddle, swim and cool down after a hike with the dogs. I have been camping since I was a kid, and now in my 40s, I still cannot get enough time out in the woods; you could say I pine for it, lol.

When the pandemic hit, I got laid off and was lucky enough to have some money set aside. I did not want to be around people because of Covid, so I headed to the forests and started gathering information about my trips. I have been to most of the State Parks and Forrest land in Minnesota and North Dakota, always searching for places off the radar.

 

I am not sure if I am a gear junkie but finding gear that fits and lasts has always been a struggle being I am extremely tall at SIX FOOT NINE. If I make a camping purchase, it needs to take a beating; it needs to be large enough where I am comfortable, keeping me warm because I am a cold sleeper. So, there will be some reviews of products I like, products I wish I could get my hands on, and items that make camping a little more comfortable.

 

Lastly the dogs. Gobee is with me on most trips; she is a German Wire Hair Pointer, rescued at 3 years old. She is almost human; she has issues with being alone and is by my side on most trips. I could not ask for a better companion.

 

Henri is a large dog in a small dog's body. He is a King Charles Cavalier and loves camping more than anything. Henri is not a big fan of water and is 100% deaf. So for his safety, if we are in Bear or large predator country we will leave him home. I feel bad about that.
